Technologies Standardised / Transferred

  1. A local promising accession namely, Balli-2 was selected for its desirable traits like nut-yield, shelling percentage and apple qualities and has been released under the name of Goa-1 for large scale cultivation in Goa state.

  2. Ninety promising accessions of local cashew genotypes have been identified and conserved in germ plasm bank.

  3. Top working technique in Cashew was standardized to convert the poor yielding trees into high yielding varieties.

  4. A total of 88 accessions/varieties of Mango were collected and maintained in germ plasm bank in the institute.

  5. Two promising seedling selections namely Cardozo Mankurad and RC-MS-1 (Bemcorado selection) were identified for desirable fruit quality, colour and regular bearing habit from the local popular varieties i.e. Mankurad and Bemcorado, respectively.

  6. High yielding improved mango varieties namely, Amrapalli, Ratna and Kesar were introduced, evaluated and popularised.

  7. High yielding variety of black paper namely, Panniyur-1 was introduced, evaluated and popularised in the State.

  8. High yielding Arecanut variety namely, Mangla was introduced, evaluated and popularised in the state by producing quality seednuts, besides the recent introduction of Mohitnagar selection.

  9. Technology for commercial cultivation and spawn production of oyster mushroom was standardized under Goa conditions and popularised for commercial endaevour/enterprise.
